The Facts You Should Know

More water for our future.

In 2014, the NTMWD supplied 219 MGD to the region even under stringent watering restrictions. Within 50 years, the NTMWD service area will be home to about 3.5 million people, more than doubling the current population. To prepare for this projected growth and ensure continued reliable service to all customers, the NTMWD is pursuing several strategies to help water supplies keep pace with the region’s growing needs. Water conservation efforts and expansion of the water reuse programs are already underway, however additional sources are still needed to meet future demand. The Lower Bois d’Arc Creek Reservoir (LBCR) is one of these new sources.
