The NTMWD received permission from the Kaufman County Environmental Cop-op to post the Talkin' Trash video and coloring book on this Web site. The Talkin' Trash video and corresponding coloring book were prepared in cooperation with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The preparation of the coloring book was financed through grants from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and are distributed by Environmental Co-op through their Web site at www.trashbusters.org Please do your part to protect our environment!

Major Rivers

Major Rivers is a water education curriculum designed to teach 4th and 5th grade students about Texas' major water resources, how to care for their water resources and how to use them wisely. The program also includes teacher resources and full color, engaging student workbooks and home leaflets that can be ordered annually from the TWDB. Water Conservation Made Easy!

Water Conservation Made Easy! was cooperately developed by the Water Efficiency Network of North Texas and produced by the Plano Television Network. This twenty minute video includes four segments:

1. Water is a Precious Resource - Simple ways to save water indoors and saving water outdoors.
2. Irrigation Basics 101 - Parts of an irrigation system, how to correct simple problems, contacting a licensed professional.
3. Seasonal Adjustments for Irrigation Controllers - Monitoring water use, when to water, and how much to water.
4. Cycle Soak Method of Watering - Maintaining healthy plants and turf, the method, and developing healthy root systems.
