In our planning cycles, NTMWD assesses wastewater management and services to ensure we can adequately meet future demand. With our service area projected to double by 2050 to more than 3 million residents, we must identify developments expected to have wastewater management needs and what additional facilities may need to be built.
As our service area grows, it impacts water demand and increases the need for additional wastewater collection and treatment services. Preparing for this growth and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations are two key factors driving costs.
