David Cowan, NTMWD Watershed Manager, is being honored this year at both the Regional level (nominated by Collin County SWCD) and the state level (by the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board) as a Friend of Conservation.
David plays a key role in implementing the Lavon Lake Watershed Protection Plan through collaboration with stakeholders, the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, Collin County SWCD, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
He is dedicated to protecting Texas’ natural resources by working with partners to address the diverse needs of our region, while prioritizing public health. Education is also a big part of David’s conservation efforts, involving hands-on demonstrations, presentations, and collaborative programs with local schools and cities.
