Bois d’Arc Lake – October 2019 Update

In this month’s edition of the Bois d’Arc Lake newsletter, we highlight the start of construction on the Lake Operations Center and boat ramps. The operations center will serve as headquarters for NTMWD staff who will oversee the lake, provide office space for the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office and local members of Texas Parks and Wildlife. There will also be a multi-purpose training/classroom space(s) for NTMWD and other agencies.

More progress includes:

  • Walls are going up on various Leonard Water Treatment Plant structures, including the plant’s operations and maintenance buildings.
  • The last pour of the concrete slab for the raw water pump station is underway.
  • Installation of 35 miles of pipeline to carry water from Bois d’Arc Lake to Leonard WTP continues.
  • Preparation for winter tree planting at the mitigation sites has begun.
