Title: Director of Wastewater


Role

As the Director of Wastewater, Hunter Stephens oversees all aspects of the Wastewater System which includes leading a staff of 250 people, 13 wastewater treatment facilities and a complex wastewater conveyance system; operating on an annual budget in excess of $220 million. Wholesale wastewater services are provided for 24 cities and 1.4 million people in the North Texas area. 

Experience & Background

Hunter has worked in the water and wastewater industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the District, he served as the Assistant Director of Public Services with the City of Richardson. Hunter joined the District in 2020 as the Water Conveyance System Manager. He holds both a Class "A" Water Operator and a class III Wastewater Collection Operator License in the State of Texas.
