The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) service area is seeing unprecedented growth. To plan effectively and to proactively meet future regional needs, NTMWD has begun preparations for a new regional water resource recovery facility to be located north and west of Lavon Lake, east of U.S. 75 and south of SH 121. NTMWD is filing an application with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to obtain the state permit needed for the facility.
NTMWD has notified and will be coordinating closely with the neighboring cities of McKinney, Princeton and New Hope. We are committed to keeping these cities and citizens informed as the project moves through permitting, design and construction phases.
We are planning a project open house on Thursday, June 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Elementary located at 810 E. Louisiana Street in McKinney to provide more details about the facility plans and TCEQ permitting. The open house will give you a chance to meet one-on-one with project staff and learn more about benefits of the facility, how it will affect the community and future operations.
