Texas Recycles Day – Plano

November 16, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Do you have gently used items to donate? Papers that need shredding? What about old electronics collecting dust? Mark your calendar for Texas Recycles Day on Saturday, Nov. 16, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Chase Oaks Church parking lot. Texas Recycles Day is perfect for cleaning out your closets, giving new life to old possessions and reducing waste in our landfills.

Plano’s Texas Recycles Day event is a drive-through, drop-off collection opportunity to donate your unwanted items to on-site local organizations and nonprofits for reuse.

This year two new organizations are joining us. This Side UP! Family is a nonprofit helping families transition from surviving to thriving. They will collect winter coats and jackets to distribute to families in need. Plano West’s Floral Design class will collect vases, floral containers, ribbon and homecoming craft supplies. Students will upcycle these materials while continuing to learn and nurture their creativity.

We are also collecting used bicycles, electronics, yarn, prom dresses, books, clothing, housewares, medical equipment, pet supplies and sporting goods.

As you prepare your donations, separate them into different categories for easy distribution to the accepting organizations on the big day.

Chase Oaks Church parking lot is at 281 Legacy Drive, 75023.
