News Stream – January 2021

Happy New Year! In our first News Stream for 2021, we’ve got the resources for you to drop-off your live Christmas trees so they can live again as mulch. Residents of our five Solid Waste Member Cities, Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano and Richardson can visit TexasPureProducts.com for location and hours of operation. Remember – the tree must not have any decorations or lights and cannot be flocked.

Learn about the new NTMWD Wylie Water Operations Center expected to complete construction and be ready for move-in later this month. The new building not only provides the much needed space for the amount of technology and personnel needed to monitor regional water service for nearly two million North Texans, it also has some important structural improvements to protect it during severe storms.

We also have information about the District’s 30th consecutive year to receive the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, how water conservation year-round helps in advance of drought, and the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center EagleCam updates – including an egg!
