NTMWD Fleet Department Again Named to Top Fleet in the Americas – 4th Consecutive Year

For the fourth consecutive year, NTMWD’s Fleet department was named one of the top 100 Fleets on the 2022 NAFA Fleet Management Association 100 Best Fleets in the Americas list.

The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program recognizes peak-performing fleet operations. The award program identifies and encourages the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the public fleet industry. The contest is open to any public fleet in North, Central, or South America.

For the NTMWD Fleet Department, continuous improvement through technology and innovation has been the primary driver in recent years. The addition of a Fleet Management Information System (FASTER), data-driven replacement scheduling, telematics, 4-channel on vehicle camera systems, idle reduction technology, and collision avoidance systems allow us to better manage data and quickly make positive corrections. NTMWD has also implemented a new “real-time” tire pressure monitoring system on articulating dump trucks in our Heavy Equipment Shop Division resulting in decreased downtime, substantial tire cost savings, and opportunities to adjust operator behavior. The expansion of the vehicle camera system program into nearly all Class 8 trucks resulted in reduced liability and improved driver behavior. On top of that, NTMWD has been able to reduce vehicle supplies and maintenance expenditures each year.

In addition to the international recognition, the purpose of the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas also helps foster pride in the industry, build recognition within the national fleet community, increase levels of productivity and operational effectiveness, and encourage more individuals to consider fleet operations as a career choice.

The entire NTMWD organization is proud of how the Fleet Department continues to embrace each year’s challenges and continues to excel.
