NTMWD Launches New Website

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) is pleased to launch our new and improved website this month! We have completely revamped the site to make it more visually appealing and provide helpful information in a way that is easy to find. The website (www.ntmwd.com) is one of the primary communications tools we use to reach the 90 communities we serve that provide essential services to 1.6 million North Texans.

The website organizes information by our three services — water, wastewater and solid waste. It also provides information on how we encourage consumers to conserve and protect water through our education programs — Water IQ, WaterMyYard and Water4Otter. Consumers who sign up for the www.WaterMyYard.org program receive weekly emails or text messages that communicate when and how much to water their yards each based on local precipitation and weather conditions.

New to the website is our environmental section. Here you will find everything you ever wanted to know about the Environmental Services department such as how we achieve water quality, the type and results of testing we conduct, and all the ways we protect the environment and our watershed.

The old website served as a valuable resource for information, but as the site grew, the information needed to be reorganized to be more user-friendly and the content more accessible. Our “Quick Links” from the homepage make it easy for visitors to go to frequently searched topics, including the Lower Bois d ‘Arc Creek Reservoir project, lake levels, watershed management, water rates, business opportunities and careers. Real-time data from the Texas Water Development Board updates our lake levels page daily.

There are also specific areas to meet the targeted information needs of members, contractors and others who do business, or seek to do business, with NTMWD. A career section highlights job openings and provides a new online application for job seekers to complete and submit electronically.

Our newsroom is another new feature that includes our blog, fact sheets, presentations, media coverage, photos, infographics, social media links and a calendar listing of upcoming meetings, classes and other events.

Best of all, the site is now mobile-friendly so you can access our information on the go. We hope you find the site to be a valuable information tool and encourage you to share this resource with others. Follow us on social media or send a message to the Public Relations team and let us know what you think of the new site!
