More than 100 Royse City residents attended a community meeting Friday night with questions about why their recent water usage increased dramatically — some with water usage totals that jumped from several thousand gallons to more than 60,000 gallons in one month.

They left the 48-minute meeting with the same questions.

“They don’t know what’s going on,” meeting organizer Brandi Luna said of city officials who attended the meeting at the Hidden Creek Community Center and offered explanations for the increases.
