As the Assistant Deputy – Water Resources, Galen Roberts oversees all aspects of water resource management, watershed protection, and lake and wetland operations. Galen and his team are responsible for managing the District’s East Fork Raw Water Supply, Bois d’Arc Lake, and more than 17,000 acres of environmental mitigation areas. He also manages the District’s water rights portfolio and works closely with water treatment and conveyance staff to make efficient use of the District’s water supplies.

Experience & Background

Galen has spent his career focusing on water resource management in the public sector. Prior to joining NTMWD, Galen worked for Texas A&M AgriLife where he helped communities throughout Texas address water quality issues. His work included developing watershed protection plans and providing training to local governments and landowners to improve and protect water resources. Since joining NTMWD, Galen has served in a number of roles including Watershed Manager and Water Operations Technical Support Manager. His experience spans areas including watershed protection, asset management, treatment and transmission operations, water conservation, and water resource management.
