Zebra mussels found in Sherman lake

Zebra mussels have been found in Lake Dean Gilbert in the city of Sherman’s Pecan Grove Park.

Lake Dean Gilbert is a small, 45-acre lake and its fishery is managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries Division as a Community Fishing Lake. There is no boat ramp at the lake, but small boats, kayaks and canoes can be launched from shore. The lake is not used as a water supply, and water from it eventually flows back into the Red River, which also has zebra mussels.
